Our story

We are experienced growers with over 20 years of hands-on cultivation and breeding expertise. In 2020, we decided to turn our passion into a business and founded Plantation Premium Seeds in Quebec, Canada.

Our goal was simple: to bring high-quality, reliable cannabis genetics to the market and help both beginners and seasoned growers succeed. After years of growing for ourselves and trading genetics with fellow enthusiasts, we saw a gap in the Canadian market — a lack of serious, bilingual sources rooted in real growing experience.

How we select our genetics

We don't just list strains — we evaluate them. Every seed we carry is selected for germination rate (typically 90–95%+), THC/CBD accuracy, and performance consistency. We only carry what we would grow ourselves.

Our catalogue spans feminized photoperiod seeds, autoflowering genetics, fast version strains built for the short Canadian outdoor season, and CBD genetics for wellness. Every strain comes with a detailed grow card written by someone who has actually grown it — not generic marketing copy.

Meet the founder

PPS was founded and is led by Head Honcho — a master cultivator with over 20 years of hands-on experience across Quebec's growing seasons. Starting as a home grower in the Laurentians, he developed deep expertise in cold-climate cultivation, phenotype selection, and genetics suited to the short Canadian outdoor season.

Head Honcho personally oversees the selection of every strain in our catalogue, writes or validates every grow guide, and ensures every seed we carry is one he would grow himself. That's not marketing — it's been the house policy since day one.

Our genetics partners

We work with established European seed banks — selected for their genetic stability, documented germination rates, and track record in northern climates. Every partner is chosen after direct grow evaluation, not based on catalogues or marketing reputation.

Our selection process is strict: minimum 90% germination rate, consistency between advertised and actual THC/CBD data, and confirmed performance across at least two grow cycles. Strains that don't pass this filter don't enter our catalogue, regardless of their popularity.
